is there an adaptor to make the card smaller to fit into the slot?
My laptop takes sd and mini sd memory cards`in the memory card slot but not compact flash cards?
No, but if your laptop has standard PC Card slots then you can easily find an adapter to fit your Compact Flash card into one of those
