Reply:Actually I thought Stephen Hawkings used a computer to speak. I know there was some talk about eye signals to guide it and all of that. Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else. . .
Reply:He has a computer that allows him to type (by mouth- or chin-operated controls) his desired remarks, and the computer synthesizer "speaks" the written words.
