How to study effectively using flash cards?
You should write the key facts in each chapter or topic. You should include the very important details that will make you remember what the topic is about. Just include the main message that the topic is stating.
Reply:Flash cards work great, they best and most important thing about flash cards is that you use them frequently. If your walking down the street, have a couple minutes before/after class. The only way to truly remember something is with repetition. Don't just have one night to cram with flash cards, make them a week or so in advance and 5 minutes here and there throughout the day can make a great deal of improvement.
Reply:write the definition on the back and the word on the front-- and for oher things do the things you dont know like difficult things as question, then the answer on the back. good luck
Reply:Read the subject then create a question from what you read write it on the card on one side and answer it on the other side. You can also draw a line down the middle of a page on one side and answer it on the other, keep the answer side covered. When it comes to taking the tests you might remember the questions and the answers might come automatically.
Reply:If you have a study guide, put each question from the study guide on it with the answer on the back. If you don't have a study guide, try to think of the things the teacher/professor would want you to get out of the chapter/section. What should you have learned? Start making flash card with easy questions and work your way to the hard ones. Look at them everyday and make piles if the ones you get right and a pile of ones you took too long to answer or didn't get right. Have a friend quiz you. The bast way I found I learned about something was teaching it/telling it to somebody else, because that means I had learned it. Most important of all, don't stay up late to cram, because you need a good night's rest for your brain to let the stuff you studied to process and remember. That's why you should take more than a day to study them. Good luck!!!
Reply:Question on one side-answer on the back OR Topic on one side- details on the back . Keep them with you so pull them out any time anywhere. This helps me with my spanish class.
Reply:write general points, or questions u don't know the answers to. also good for formula's and mind joggers
Reply:I cant help you on flash cards, but if you are in transit for a while (catch the bus, peak hour traffic to your college/university/job/ whatnot) and you have an MP3 player, its a good idea to make a voice recording of central topics, ideas that get you thinking , things worth remembering, etcetera

so if it takes ages, you can do something

try study guides

sorry I couldnt help with the flash cards

goodluck in ur exams......wish me too......

How much do FLASH CARDS help memorize things?

Memorizing with flash cards is gonna help me memorize faster? If so, how much faster?

thanks in advance

How much do FLASH CARDS help memorize things?
The role of repetition is the most important thing to remember: when you repeat something, you will move that information from your short term memory to long term.

By creating flashcards (and I mean YOU creating them by handwritten means), you are copying information, reading it, and then - if done correctly - reciting the information over and over. Once you "know" what is on the other side of the card, you are simply reviewing and repeating that memory of your knowledge. If this is done well in advance of a test, preferably as you get the information - you potentially could remember the information for years.

You don't have to have flashcards to memorize, but it certainly helps if you are a visual or tactile (hands-on) type of learner. If not, record the information and upload it to your ipod or mp3 and listen to it over %26amp; over.
Reply:Anything that gets your brains attention will help with memorization. That might be flashcards, rhymes, riddles, stories, etc.

Are some compact flash cards faster than others?

Ok, my question is you know how when you take a picture with a digital camera, and then you have to sit there for about 5 seconds before you can take another pic.

I want to be able to fire off about 3 or 4 in a row. Can I just by a compact flash memory card with a faster read or write time or whatever.

Are some compact flash cards faster than others?
Unfortunately, it isn't just the card that decides read/write times. The cameras' interface to the card is equally important. I bought the Sandisk Extreme III CF card because my camera supports the improved throughput.

Not knowing your camera brand or type makes it impossible to recommend a card for you. If your cameras' performance isn't affected by the card speed, buying a high end card might not be effective..
Reply:As Bob says, card speed is only one factor.

Start by turning off your monitor. If the camera only needs to write to the card and not the monitor, it will be a faster process.

If your camera has a "sport" mode, this will also work faster.

If you have "continuous shooting," use that and just bang of 3 or 4 frames instead of 15-20.

Which company's flash cards do you recommend for building SAT Vocabulary?

I'm thinking about companies like Barron's, Sparknotes (the one with 1000 flash cards), Kaplan, Princeton, etc.

Personal experience would be great because I know some sets of flash cards never have their words in the SATs.

Which company's flash cards do you recommend for building SAT Vocabulary?
Princeton Review is good. Kaplan is good.

Also, there's a website I used that has online flashcards--makes studying a little more fun:

What are some fun ways to study using flash cards?

I am helping someone study tonight for an exam and he is using flash cards. Any ideas how we can make this fun? If this matters, he is studying for bartending and needs to memorize 160 drinks by Sunday

What are some fun ways to study using flash cards?
a lot of mixed drinks have gin as a base . colour code some of the cards so he can get past those non-gin drinks

and for memory helpers, put a bit of clip art on the cards that relate to the drink name. That may help to relate to the drink more
Reply:You can't go wrong with M%26amp;Ms as rewards ;)
