My laptop has 3 usb ports and a card reader. Whenever I insert any card it senses the hardware,shows the hardware but doesnt show up in 'My computer'.So I cant read/write/erase. Same with any flash drive.What could be the problem? Desperate since I want to transfer my pictures to hard drive. Help!

just go to walmart and buy a 20 dollar usb card reader
Reply:There is much more info needed to be sure , but here are some choices . 1st chech your card reader on another pc ..does it work there?..2nd if you have 3 usb ports , be sure to use the same one each time. .3rd..plug in the reader without the card in it , after pc has found reader , then add the card ..hope this helps

Reply:you can check if the ports are working by using the device manager located in the control panel if all else fails you'll have to send it in for servicing
