¿what should i do with these, ESPAÑOL FLASH CARDS /=D?
Try to use 10 every day.Make sure you use them.If at bedtime you know them put 10 other ones into your pocket. It will help you to increase your vocabulary.Try the nouns first and then the verbs, present tense first. Even if you come up with a sentence like-- ayer voy a la escuela.[yesterday I go to school] people will understand you.It takes a lot of constant practise to learn Spanish.I have been at it for more than 45 years and I want to be better yet.
Reply:I use to use flash cards for my French class. Start out with a small number and then once you get good with those, do another stack, and later on mix them.

as that other perosn said, they wont help you in conversations,

theyll only help you to memorize the names of stuff

i hope you learn the language, good luck
Reply:Flashcards are key to learning foreign language because learning vocabulary sets a strong foundation for further learning. You should learn at least 2,500 vocabulary words as the first step, maybe 500 words a week. This is easier than it sounds if you use nmemonics to do so. There are several nmemonic strategies which you can find on the internet or in books. For example, to remember that the spanish word for "old" is "viejo" you may create a sentence such as, "The V.A. hospital is so old it was knocked down with a hoe." Get it? That way you don't have to mindlessly repeat seeing and repeating a flashcard word. Remembering that sentence, which you will for a very long time, is enough.
Reply:You can know some words studying in that way, but you can never learn any language by memorization. You cannot have a conversation with a person with a memorized scheme in your mind.

Think what you do speaking in English. You don't have to think every word you are going to say, you just say them.

Only way to LEARN a language: practice, practice %26amp; practice. And with time you will know it.

The flash cards can help to pass a subject in the school. That's it.

How can I make flash cards for my baby?

I think human interaction is better than stuff like that, like with baby einstein edu baby videos, the babies really just zone out. I don't think a baby can interpret the pictures, actually..

What the heck do you want to do that for? That kid doesn't need friggin flash cards. Talk to him and take him outside to experience nature.

Reply:hahaha good luck trying to make a smart baby loser
Reply:Put little drawing or pictures of different animals and thing on index cards. Write the answers on the back. Even cut out a picture of you and have one that says "mommy" on it.

Good luck!

Reply:Buy index cards and write whatever your trying to teach him
Reply:Use cardboard or poster board, something stiff for the cards. You can decorate however you like, but bright colors might do more good since babies are drawn to them. Look up free educational stuff for babies online. There's all sorts of worksheets and things like that. Simply print them out or copy them and draw or glue them onto the board. Oh and you might laminate them, drool and chewing on them could tear them up pretty quick if you don't. And they are bound to be chewed on.
Reply:With index cards and a pen.

Reply:I know a great site that has kanji flash cards that come out in a printable format. You can't print them out 8 at a time, only one at a time or all 500 at once. But what I did was I copied and pasted the flashcards that I needed into microsoft word and printed them that way. That way you can get more than one on each page and just cut them out. The great thing about these flashcards is that they have the actual kanji characters, the on-yumi and kun-yumi meanings (in yomigana and english), example of words the use the kanji (completely kanji and in hiragana) and the words' english meaning. They really help alot with trying to memorize commonly used kanji.

When a flash card is not in use for a long time, should it be left in the device or kept out of the device?

Flash cards are used in devices such as cameras, digital recorders, MP3 players, etc. When a device will not be used for a long time, i.e. several months, should the flash card be removed from the device, or can it be kept in the device without problem?

When a flash card is not in use for a long time, should it be left in the device or kept out of the device?
well you should keep it in your device coz I think it's the safest place to keep. There won't be any problem with it. You can also take it out from the device if you have memory card case to keep it in.

For memorization, does using flash cards work well?

Im using them

For memorization, does using flash cards work well?
With vocabulary, they are excellent. Historical dates as well. It is a well known medical fact that in order to completely memorize something, you need to read it twenty times.
Reply:They can act as a primer. Flash cards are a visual cue. If you want to truly remember something, you have to create a mnemonic or mental cue. Let me explain it this way.

Do you remember or know of a Saturday kids' program called Schoolhouse Rock? They had math, english, history, and other subjects. They were cartoons set to music. They actually helped people remember things. I remember two guys who I graduated with actually used them to pass government class. I remember watching them in the back of the class mouthing the words to some of the songs to help them answer questions on our final exam. I think you can find the videos on the internet, to download and to buy.
Reply:Flash cards are excellent for helping you remember facts! Another good way to remember a list of things or a passage is to break it down. Learn a small amount of it. Say it over and over. Add a little more and start from the beginning saying it over and over. Add a little more once you have that part, but each time you recite it, start from the beginning...good luck!
Reply:depends.. do it

Whats the difference between the compact flash 1 and compact flash 2:microdrive cards?

I'm looking to buy a digital slr that uses them, and want to know which is the best buy for my money.

Whats the difference between the compact flash 1 and compact flash 2:microdrive cards?
The issues are these

1) Some cards transfer data faster than others, so once you have taken your images or photos and need to transfer them to a computer, the faster speeds (80X, 100x, etc) move the images to other devices faster, this is important as it saves time. Many people have digital image recovery needs and issues when the data transfer takes to long and something goes bump in the night during the transfer.

2) The higher the speed the faster the data is written after the image is taken, faster cards save the data faster, so you can take the next picture faster. Once again photo recovery is needed many times when something goes wrong during the transfer of the data or the writing of the data to the card as it is being taken, get a fast card to avoid data recovery issues.

3) The most important part is this, buy from a big name, I wont rec. PNY as we see many of these showing up at our labs. The bigger the name the least shortcuts they take when it comes to electrical engineering... meaning the parts they use such as crystals, capacitors, NAND memory types to store data are of better quality and workmanship. Find a press release we put out recently about this on a Google search for "eprovided.com data recovery". Larger names are also easier to recover data from if you do have issues as they are more common to find parts for in extreme damage situations, such as when cards or USB devices loose all connectivity, parts break, damaged connections, not recognized in windows XP, etc. We see and recover from these issues all the time, but avoid data recovery or image recovery by taking the advice above.

What is the minimum speed of a Compact Flash card to be used for a Canon EOS 350D / Digital Rebel XT ?

What is the minimum speed of a Compact Flash card that I can use on a Canon Digital Rebel XT. I have seen 133x and 266x cards and they are really expensive. I want to check what's actually needed?

Thanks.

What is the minimum speed of a Compact Flash card to be used for a Canon EOS 350D / Digital Rebel XT ?
The Lexar series includes the 60x then 80x, 133x, and 300x. Similarly, SanDisk includes the regular, Ultra II, Extreme III and Extreme IV. I would suggest the 80x (12MB/sec) or Ultra II (10MB/sec). The others are definately options too for any upgrades in the camera body. Be sure that the higher writing speed cards are compatible with the camera body. Also, either 2GB or 4GB would be useful (better to buy a few smaller cards than to put all your images on one big one).
Reply:there's no minimum I believe. however you do get the benefit of a faster card by faster reading and writing time.

I have an old camera, and it uses a cable that came with it. One end plugs into the camera, the other end (USB) plugs into the computer.

If you have lost or misplaced the cable that came with the camera, you might try going to the camera manufacturer's website, maybe you can buy one there.

What's the best way to teach my children thier math facts, other than flash cards?

The best and most overlooked way to improve classroom education of any kind is to introduce the use of boardgames. I have taught for over ten years all over the world, and only when I use boardgames do students voluntarily insist on extending their classes for two, three, even four hours. Not only that but they then show the most rapid improvement.

Reply:There isn't a single best way. Different children have different learning styles. Try some different techniques, flash cards are a memorizational technique, maybe using grouped objects and counting for visual and experiential learning. If you can remember ways that worked best for you to learn that may help, learning styles seem to be hereditary.
Reply:Try to come up with real-world activities that demonstrate the facts. For example:

The transitive property states that if a = b, and b = c, then a = c.

A real world example: If 20 nickels = 1 dollar and 4 quarters = 1 dollar, then 20 nickels = 4 quarters.

Using flash cards for study?

I never found flash cards helpful. I could never memorize a bunch of words in a foreign language with the translation written on the opposite side. Or memorizing chemical elements (nightmares!!!)

I always found it more helpful to read my notes so I'd have the ideas in context and I could always flip back and forth between notes for things that ties together. What are your recommendations for using flash cards in study?

Using flash cards for study?
i feel that flash cards make studying very simple, as long as it's just for vocabulary. learning a different language, however, i take a different approach. when learning spanish, i use my words in sentences. then, when i need to, i remember the sentences i came up with and it helps me remember how the word is used and what it means. hope that helped!
Reply:I personally hate flash cards. They're a waste of time to make.

I think that reading my notes every day helps more. I just flip through my notebooks/binders during study hall and then I never have to actually study when exam time comes around

I'm a horrible studier.
Reply:flashcards are an excellent choice; even my teacher who gives me 18 words to study every week recommends them. I've been recieving A and B letter grades on my test.

How do I use flash cards for studying? What method has worked with you? I have over 140 cards to learn for my?
Go to download dot com, and find a flashcard program.
Reply:If you have to use flash cards to study, what you do is, you either put the word or definition on one side, and you guess whats on the other side and then once uve made ur final decision on the answer you check the back of the card to see the right answer. For example, if i was learning the DEFINITIONS of words, i would write the words on one side and their definition on the other, then i would look at the side with the words and say their definition out loud, then ill check the definition on the other side of the card to see if i was correct. You go over them like 2-3 times to get them engraved into ur head. hope that helps
Reply:For my Spanish oral exam, I had 140 set questions, so I set out about 4 hours and I copied the question on the front in one colour and the answer on the back in a different colour. The fact it is also in your own handwriting makes it easier to remember.

This can work in any subject where you need to learn facts.

Things you can try:

1. Get someone to read the questions, and say the answer.

2. Read the question and say the answer.

3. Read the answer and suggest a question.

Make sure you go through the pile of flashcards at least 3 times before the exam, and take out ones that you don't know and pay special attention to them

Best of luck :)

I am looking for a commercial printing company to help me make high quality flash cards?

thats it folks

I am looking for a commercial printing company to help me make high quality flash cards?
Sounds like a very expensive proposition, to me. Couldn't you use card stock or cover stock and a good quality laser printer, then have the cards laminated??? I'd be willing to bet a laser printer would cost less than commercially printing these cards because of the setup fees and so forth.

However, take them to your local Office Max or Office Depot and have someone there take a look at them... you never know.

What are your future predictions for memory cards or flash memory cards?
Well rigth now the hard disk are in danger of extintion with new chips cappable to archive 400gb per square inch

Maybe they appear the next year
Reply:Flash memory is cool, but its not going to amount to a whole lot unless they can get the access speed up. I don't know what others think, but personally, I think they are too frickin slow to make me want to dump harddrive technology that is good for 30-70mbs a second. Lots of USB based flash disks are limited to 12mb sec max, and I doubt you ever really see that.
Reply:They will keep getting better and better with more and more storage space. It will be the same as everything else when it comes to electronics; buy the best one available today, in 2 weeks, someone will come out with something better.

There is an issue, however, with digital camera manufacturers not being able to keep up; you can get 4GB memory cards now, but MOST digital cameras can't even handle anything above 2GB.

Hope this helps :)

Do FLASH cards help a lot in memorizing?

How helpful are they?

Do FLASH cards help a lot in memorizing?
Flash cards are very helpful, especially when you make them yourself. You learn by writing the information out and then by using the flash cards. The key is repetition. Seeing something over and over makes us familiar with it, whether it is a person's face or a math formula.

Do you use flash cards to study?

I've started using them this semester and I cant believe I hadnt used them earlier. They are a great tool, not only do they help you research for the answers, but when you actually use them, you further reinforce the knowledge into your mind. I cant believe I used to laugh off at this method and think it was dumb.

Do you use flash cards to study?
I used them all the time in undergrad and grad school. I had a long commute and they were really easy to use while sitting in traffic.
Reply:No.
Reply:I use them in Spanish but that's it because the other subjects I don't really need them.
Reply:I know a lot of people who use that method to study, although I'm more of a list and chart kind of person. I've used flashcards before, but for me seeing everything written on a chart next to each other is helpful for seeing the differences in the information you're trying to study. For exams, you can just visualize the chart and go from there.
Reply:I personally never do, but my friends say that it helps them. They are easier to carry and they make you focus on the more importants facts and details. (however, I think a Hi-Liter does the same thing...but whatever works for you!)
Reply:I use them for any vocabulary I need to know, sometimes for science. I also use them to keep organized writing papers. Whenever I use a source, I write what I learned and what page it was on in the source, then I either number or color code the cards according to which source they're for. It's really easy and I never miss citing something that should be.
Reply:Yes, I use them in Chemistry, Physic and New words.

You can buy Sparknotes studycards. They are small easy to bring with you, and they have big values.
Reply:Yes - I found them especially useful in learning a foreign language.

I studied Afrikaans for less than an academic year, and reached a comfort level suitable for travel and reading technical manuals - but oddly enough, way below what I needed for reading novels! - largely by practicing with index cards.

I focused on right before I fell asleep and right as I woke up, which are two really powerful periods of time for memory formation. I also carried my cards with me for constant reinforcement while on the bus, at lunch, etc.

This was when I was in graduate school, and had little time or energy, but needed to learn quickly.

I am learning a language and want to make flash cards of words and phrases. How?

Buy bits of card. Get a dictionary for that language. And write things onto the cards. If you want to learn what household objects are in the language then you can write their name on the card and stick it to the object in your house, that way you'll get a visual reminder as you walk around your house and it'll help you learn it and remember it.

I am learning a language and want to make flash cards of words and phrases. How?
We do things like this in Spanish Class. Write the English on the Front of the card, and the Spanish on the back. Just buy index cards, and whenever you need a group of words, take 10 minutes to make some. Try doing English to Spanish more, because you don't want to only listen, because Spanish to English is easy to learn. Make extra sure you use correct spelling too, because that will mess you up for quite a while if you don't.
Reply:take index cards and write it in english on the back and on the front put the phrase then quiz yourself and see if your write

What is the toshiba flash cards support utility?

this thing is always getting error messages on my computer and is always running on task manager and taking up like 23,000 memmory, which i dont like. can anyone tell me what this is please? and can i just remove it from programs?

thank you

What is the toshiba flash cards support utility?
You can remove it if you don't ever plug a flash card into your computer. The flash card slot is right below the blue lights and is designed so you can take the flash card out of a camera and download the pictures to the flash card faster. I also use flash cards like a portable drive so i tend to use mine a lot.

If you don't use it, remove it from the startup. It won't hurt a thing.

Now, Slot 1 flash card is better if you don't play GBA games. such as R4, Super card ds.

and its easy to use, like R4, you just need to copy and paste the rom to the micro SD, and insert the SD to R4, then you can start to play the games.

If you need them, maybe you should just ask your mom for the $50 to buy them.

I'm trying to become a bartender and remembering the drinks using flash cards, is there an easier way of....

learning the drinks perhaps word association?

I'm trying to become a bartender and remembering the drinks using flash cards, is there an easier way of....
Well I don't if you have a friend that own or mang. a bar but if you do ask if you can volunteer a couple nights a week or weekend. That's what I did and you learn a lot faster with hands on. Good Luck
Reply:there is no crash test on learning drinks. it all comes from experience. you probably already know more than you think. once you start working it will come easier. most places behind your bar there will be a book or cheat guide of somekind. dont be afraid to ask your customer whats in it. sometimes the same drink will have 4 names or 5 ways to make it. just relax, it will come. also there is a book called bartending for dummies. i have it and its great. i have been bartending over 20 years and i still sometimes have to look things up. good luck and happy pouring.
Reply:Try using a tape recorder, and try to put the recipes in categories that make sense to you. Say, bourbon recipes. Study those and see what the common denominators are, and then the variations.

Hope this helps.
Reply:Practice, practice ,practice, flash cards are a good idea though.
Reply:Don't waste your time learning a ton of drinks.

Learn margaritas, which are all very similar.

highballs such as sex on the beach and white russian to name a couple.

Bartending is pretty easy and you will get the hang of it.
Reply:Break down the cocktails into categories. Sours in a group, long drinks in a group, martinis in a group.

Sours are by far the easiest to remember. E.g A margarita consists of Tequila, Cointreau/Triple Sec, Sweet %26amp; Sour/Lime Juice. Sub the tequila with vodka and you get a kamikaze. Sub Tequila with rum and you get a daiquiri etc. Easily way of association.

More complicated drinks require a lot of mixing time for you to remember. Ask your fellow bar staff to let you do all the cocktails for a week. Keep the recipes nearby and check if you are not sure. By the time you do the same cocktail for the 8th or 9th time, you should be able to remember the recipe. (provided you are already working in the bar)

My son is 17 months and says some words I would like to help him learn more!would flash cards be a good start?

please give me some examples of fun ways of teaching young children to speak and learn new words.

My son is 17 months and says some words I would like to help him learn more!would flash cards be a good start?
Flash cards are good, as well as games. Reading to your child and speaking to him with normal language, not baby talk will help as well. I also recommend exposing him to as many experiences as possible (field trips I guess you could say). Children who have access to different environments pick up on new skills and tend to do well in school later on. Also, if you are considering child care, look carefully at the business you will be intrusting his early education in. Some daycares don't do a good job at fostering speech and early reading skills. Ask if they follow a curriculum and ask them if they can explain what they will be working with him on.
Reply:you could try. but i would think that a game would help him faster.
Reply:Flashcards will not work. What will give him more words is fun times with you, not drill.

Take him places, and use proper and varied vocabulary to describe things. Don't limit your own speech to "baby" or simple speech.

For example, instead of saying "Look at the pretty tree," you could say "I see a beautiful oak tree. Let's see if it has any acorns."
Reply:talk to him more

YOU have to teach him words not the flash cards

that how my 2 yr old cousin learned so much

she knows more words than most three year olds and she uses the words rght and answers when we ask her sumthing

just be cause we talked to her
Reply:if you do the flash cards make sure they are picture flash cards relate the picture to the real item and even then add the written word. make the object something enjoyable. like and apple the can eat it. a toy so he can play. stuff like that.
Reply:Flashcards won't work unless he can read. Try games like memory. And read to him alot. Point words out while you are reading. Don't push too much, let him lead you in his learning.
Reply:Is he watching children's programs like Sesame Street? You can probably get this stuff on video (VHS or DVD).

If you talk baby talk to him that doesn't help. You have to talk to him like you are talking normally - instead of saying boo-boo or owie - you say hurt - or sore - or whatever it is - not choo choo train but just train - that sort of thing.

Sing to him - simple songs - children's songs because those are always fun to listen to.

Let him listen to the television and/or radio as much as possible even if the topic is geared towards adults.
Reply:I think everyone has given you good advice, I would add, as a mother and a reading teacher, read to him every night, give him books and turn off the TV. Encourage him to read and love books now. All academic learning is linked to reading and the skills we use for reading are developed from the time we speak and are solidified by grade 3. When he does begin to read find books that repeat words and sounds. Show your son you love to read and he will develop a love of reading also.
Reply:Read to him! Shown to help develop vocabulary.
Reply:Well I have a couple of comments for you LOL!

My first daughter, now 4, was saying some words at 16 months or so. She was right "on schedule," when all of a sudden she stopped "learning." At 2, she only had a vocabulary of maybe 15 words or so, and spoke no sentences. I was *freaking* out! I was so bad that when she was 25 months, I was going to Borders to look at books on autism (yeah, first children make you a little nuts). In any case, it was like one day she woke up and spoke in full sentences with multi-syllable words! Literally, from one day to the next she went from, "Moon," while pointing, to "Actually, Mommy, the moon only comes out at night," hehe!

I used flash cards to an extent, but the *best* way to get your children to talk is to a) talk to them about *everything you do - "oooh, look honey, mommy's buying cereal - can you say cereal?" Look them in the eye and enunciate every word and speak slowly. And b) let them develop at their own pace ;) If your son isn't following some "book guideline" about when it's appropriate to talk, make yourself a cup of tea and notice all the *other* things that he's doing! I think children who are "expected" or "pushed" to follow some "baby guru" type schedule can actually fall behind because they can feel pressure. I'm not saying by any means that YOU are doing this, but it's an easy pitfall to get into!

Oh yeah - also, we read to her from the time she was a year old. She's 4, like I said, and I'm reading the Narnia books to her! I don't think "baby talk" hurts really - if it's all you do, it will, but affectionate baby talk here and there won't do any harm, I don't think.

Finally, you're a great mom for taking such a proactive approach to teaching your child ;) (Wow, that was an assumption! I didn't look at your pic or profile, so maybe you're a daddy!)

Reply:do what you think is best for ur son!!

yea..flash cards could help..

wish u luck!^^
Reply:NO Flash Cards won't work. Read, sing, and talk to him. Encourage him to use words to make his needs known when he points to an item help him say what it is. Don't push him to hard all children learn to speak at different rates. as long as he is showing progress it is all good.
Reply:You should read to him/with him. Flash cards are good and so are games but nothing beats hearing language through reading.

Expose him (if you can) to things like the zoo, museums, parks. Don't rely on tv and videos. Have him use his imagination through toys and creative play.

Now, if he isn't actually speaking, rather pointing, you'll need to get him actually to say the word (or the best you can).

Is there any real difference between brands of SD flash memory cards?

I need an SD card for my Treo 650 and there appears to be a wide range of brands and prices for 1GB cards. Is there a genuine difference? Is a cheap card a bad choice? Are there "better" brands when it comes to storage value?

Is there any real difference between brands of SD flash memory cards?
i agree with reaper king. sandisk all the way.
Reply:sandisk is the industry standard in cards and have reputable performance and good quality. generally the generic cards will be okay but do tend to break down faster than the name brand ones.
Reply:No idea all the way, SD is so fragmented it's like early floppy industry replayed in 21st century, some people around the 'Net will report one bad experience with one brand, while rare, they do exist.

But 1 GB is safely small, the bad raps I read was about 2 GB and even 4 GB ones. So I doubt there is difference other than the speed of it for a small nibble like 1 GB..
Reply:There is a difference between TYPES of flash memory (i.e. SD, MMC, XD, etc), but there's not really a difference from brand to brand. There may be a slight difference in transfer speed that you wouldn't even notice. Flash memory has no moveable parts, thus there is virtually no ware %26amp; tear. The only way they will break is if you snap it in half with your fingers.

This is one of those things where you should really just go with who has the best deal. Check out the link below for good deals on Flash Memory...

Is there a car stereo that can read flash cards or jump drives to play mp3 ?

I know they cam play MP3 cds up I hate burning all those cds.

Is there a car stereo that can read flash cards or jump drives to play mp3 ?
None have a jump drive but Eclipse (Fujitsu ten) and I think JVC has one too a cd player that uses an SD card. You can fit more onto an SD card than an old cd. And all you have to do is drag and drop onto your SD card and your ready to go. No more waiting for a cd to burn.
Reply:they wont use that in a car, for one thing, not many people have a flash card, and the size to memory ratio comparing to a CD and flash will prove CD is much better. A CD also cost cheaper than a flash drive.
Reply:maybe in another 50 years Ha Ha Ha
Reply:I don't think car stereos can do that yet. For now, there is a device you can plug into your cigarette lighter. You tune your radio in to it (it can work on several different FM frequencies), and plug in your mp3 player or your jump drive and press Play. I know Wal-Mart carries them in their car stereo department. I don't know if anybody else does.
Reply:none i think in another 20 years

Is compact flash cards compatible with windows vista?

i have a windows vista os. i tried to use a card reader to read my compact flash card but it would not even detect it. is the compact flash card really not compatible with vista? the brand that i bought is Transcend.

Is compact flash cards compatible with windows vista?
CF cards are compatible with Vista. You may have a card reader that doesn't have a diver for Vista though.

Go to Best Buy or the like and buy one that has a "Certified for Vista" logo on it. Or, just buy any old one and take it back if it doesn't work.
Reply:might be there is some problem with ur flash card like it might have got corrupt or something..but the flash cards work perfectly fine with vista,,i m using a card reader...latest transent products are certified for vista
